How Football 6 Axes works

Football 6 Axes is a free quiz that turns the way you think about football into a playing style — and then matches you with the footballer and the team you most resemble.

Most "which player are you?" tests ask about your favourite colour or your mood. We do the opposite. Every question drops you into a real situation on the pitch — a one-on-one near the box, a 1–0 lead with five minutes left, a loose ball in midfield — and asks what you would actually do. Your choices, not your opinions, build your profile.

The three steps

  1. Answer in-game decisions. You work through a series of scenarios covering attacking, defending, technique and game management. There are no right or wrong answers — only the ones that reveal how you play.
  2. Get mapped on six axes. Each answer nudges six core traits: Technique, Tactics, Pace, Physical, Defending and Attacking. Together they form your footballing fingerprint, drawn as a hexagon.
  3. Meet your match. We compare your profile with a database of around 200 footballers — legends and current stars — and dozens of iconic teams, and show you who you line up with.

Why six axes?

Football rarely rewards being good at only one thing. A brilliant dribbler who never tracks back plays a very different game from a commanding defender who reads danger before it happens. Six axes are enough to capture these contrasts without turning the result into a spreadsheet. You can read a full breakdown on our six axes page.

Legends stay reachable

We deliberately tuned the matching so that the all-time greats are not locked behind impossible scores. If you play like Maradona, you can be matched with Maradona. At the same time, "complete" players don't match everyone by default — your two strongest traits carry real weight, so a result actually means something. For the full logic, see how matching works.

Who made this

Football 6 Axes is an independent project built by a football fan, for football fans. It is free to play, works in six languages, and takes a couple of minutes. If you enjoy it, you can support the project with a small tip or by sharing your result.
